Error description
In version 2025.1 Release, IKAROS generates PAIN files (bank order files) with the wrong file encoding. PAIN files are used to send transfer and direct debit orders to banks. The encoding incorrectly used by IKAROS 2025.1 Release is ‘UTF-8 with BOM’, but according to the underlying ISO standard, only ‘UTF-8’ (without BOM) is permitted. This means that banks may refuse to process these PAIN files.
Older versions of IKAROS are not affected.
IKAROS already uses the correct encoding for every bank for which you have set up an XML schema transformation (XSLT) under [Finance modules -> E-banking -> Document export settings]. This applies regardless of the type of change made by the XSLT file in question.
Date/version for correction
The correction for this error will be provided as a supplementary patch to version 2025.1 Release, expected at the beginning of calendar week 4/2026. It will already be corrected in 2025.1 Patch 1 and in 2026.1.
